sPSB says Happy New Year 2010!
January 1, 2010
Dear Colleagues,
It’s said time flies like an arrow and it certainly does. It is my pleasure to wish you a peaceful, happy and successful New Year.
As always, the turn of the year is time for reflection as well as looking forward. 2009 was a year of change for the board - in several ways; handover brought a new executive committee, new faces on the board and it is my honour to become Vice-Chairman in charge of training and welfare.
As we look back, we can recall many eventful moments for the board. I can remember we held the AYG Games day for many Victorians last year. It is indeed heartening to see many Victorians participating in the games. As I recall, not many people were interested in the games initially, but after a while, people simply wanted to play it again and again!
The 1st Peer Support Convention 2009, co-organized by the PSBs of Victoria School and Raffles’ Girls School, is without doubt the pride of the board last year. I believe this event was a turning point for many of us who had the opportunity to be part of this. Encouraging Peer, Enduring Support and Embracing Spirit was definitely what we have always look to during this convention!
The 1st ASEAN Youth Convention 2009 was held from the 1st of August to the 11th of August. The executive committee was involved in the planning and facilitation of this convention and it sure proved to be though and challenging. To me, it was another opportunity to learn and it surely changed my perspective of leadership.
While we look back and celebrate our victories and joys last year, we must remember that we have much to do and 2010 will bring new challenges.
As we welcome the new year, I have three challenges for all Junior PSLs.
1. Lead well. Display outstanding leadership skills as a PSL. Being a leader is also being a follower. Hand in your work and proposals on time. Be role-models to your juniors, and let them respect you.
2. Score well. As a PSL, you cannot screw up your academics. You are a role model. You guys are leaders now; I’m not going to set a benchmark for you guys to meet for this because I believe in you. Be able to cope with the duties as a PSL and the studies. Approach your seniors for help. But your L1R5 should never hit above 22!
3. Display well. Be disciplined and smart. Do the right things right. I do not want to see jPSLs being punished! Attend your CCAs. Do not neglect your CCAs because of the many 'interferences'. When you go out there, always remember you represent VS PSB.
PSLs: In what you do, always be humble. In what you do, always listen to instructions. In what you do, the world is watching. This New Year will see a change in the peer support sessions and we will be selecting the 7th executive committee in may!
While we face new challenges, it is in my duty to remind every one of us that we mustn’t go round the problem but we must go through the problem. We must be stronger after every challenge and not fear them.
We have many new plans this year but it would only be possible to execute them if everyone support what we will plan for. Let’s all keep in mind that our core objective is to spread the peer support spirit. Whatever the rest of the year has in store for us, we will be ready for it. Once again, Happy New Year 2010!
On behalf of all sPSLs,
Ryan Loy Vice Chairman (Training & Welfare) 7th Executive Committee 2009/2010 Victoria School Peer Support Board

[IMPT] - Two forms DUE 15/11/09
Hey Guys,
You guys will need to fill in two forms:
(1) - Class Report 2009 (2) - Individual Reflections 2009
This Class report is a simple reflection of the sessions so far for this year. You feedback and reflections will be greatly appreciated. Your answers will be strictly private hence please answer it honestly.
Take note, this will be used to asses our lesson plans, and be of reference to the session plans next year.
Individual Reflections will be used to access and used to evaluate oneself, as well as give the Core feedback on how the board has been.
We have a vision that we want this board to be the best in school, and to be that, we need the whole board to work together, minus the differences.
Jason have attached the Class Report 2009, use that and each class I/C is to send him by email back, CC me. I also want the Individual Reflections to be done, printed and given to me or Ms Tang by hand, and no one else
The deadline for Class Report is 15th November 9AM. The Individual Report is due on 15th November 2009. Please take note, the EXCO will be going for VELOCI-T so it is going to be tough to collect the forms after that.
It MUST BE BY HAND so that confidential information will not be released.
Regards, Ryan Loy

7th RGPSC 2007 Co-Organised by Victoria School
This year's convention was indeed a blast.
special thanks to the organising commitee who has made this convention a huge success. they did a splendid job, and really did us seniors proud.
some quotes from participants "i really want to congratulate the OC on mangaing to rally the participants, and forge a bond amongst them."
"i really enjoyed myself, and could see the OC really enjoyed themselves too."
thanks to the OC, and our RGS counterparts. You too make it possible, with the oppurtunity to work with you all. may the objective of the convention "building long lasting bonds" remain intact, and our friendships last a life-time.
cheers and regards jonathan chairperson of the 7th RGPSC 2007 Co-Organised by VS

Farewell Mr Adrian Lim
We started off today with a farewell ceremony for Mr Adrian Lim our vice-principal which lasted for about an hour...Seeing Mr Low Eng Teong presenting Mr Adrian Lim a token of appreciation for all the hard work and commitment he had given to this fine institution was one of the key elements that made up the ceremony. Mrs Sharma's and the speeches by students also provided a deep insight to Mr Lim's extensive contributions during the one and a half years he spent serving the school. From all of us in the Peer Support Board, we wish you a successful and fruitful life ahead! Our doors are always open to you should you decide to return to Victoria School. Once a Victorian, always a Victorian! THANK YOU MR LIM!

Do your job well!
